No, Tom Brady, the Patriots Quarterback will not be wearing pink Uggs, but he along with the NFL are wearing pink cleats to raise breast cancer awareness. Brady is the face of Uggs and the commercials are airing now!

Tom Brady Talks Candidly about UGG
Final UGG Fall 2011 Commercial featuring Tom Brady
I think the commercial would be more effective and authentic if they used some of the behind-the-scenes footage in the actual commercial. I personally find the behind-the scenes footage cooler and makes me want to buy uggs!
After watching the interview with Tom Brady, I’m wondering how scripted it was. I can’t believe for one minute that Tom has been wearing Uggs for years, and this makes me skeptical about the whole thing. The only thing that saves Ugg here is that they chose Tom Brady as their spokesperson. If it was anyone else I don’t think they would have a chance to reach their target market, which in this case is adult male’s. Tom Brady, especially in New England, is the symbol of masculinity, with every woman wanting to be with him, and every man wanting to be him. For this, I applaud Ugg because I really like what they are doing with their approach.
Having grown up in Massachusetts my whole life, I remember how humorous my friends and I thought it was when we found out that Tom Brady had become a spokesperson for Uggs. It was a brand that most of my male friends thought were ridiculous and Brady’s endorsement of the product just made us laugh even harder. Even though we were all Patriots fans, it just seemed ludicrous for a man, even one we idolized as much as Brady, to be wearing a product that we had only seen females wearing before. Yet, over the years, I’ve seen more and more males from the New England area buy Uggs. I think some people still feel that Uggs are a feminine product but because of Brady’s endorsement it just does not seem entirely socially unacceptable for a man to be seen in a pair. I cannot comment on the financial success Uggs had from hiring Tom Brady but I can certainly say that their decision had at least slight changes on consumer’s perceptions of the company and their products. And therefore, in my mind, it was a pretty successful decision.
